Gerry Cosby

Born in Roxbury, Massachusetts, goalkeeper Gerry Cosby was instrumental in the United States first ever IIHF World Championship gold medal in 1933 in Prague.

Cosby was simply outstanding, allowing only 1 goal against in 5 games.  The USA beat Czechoslovakia, Poland and Switzerland in the first round with total goals of 17 - 0, won over Austria in the semi-final with the score of 4 - 0 and won the final against Canada with 2 - 1.

Cosby also tended the nets for USA at the 1938 World Championships. He was asked to play in the 1936 Olympics, but had to turn down the invitation due to previous commitments.
